Insurance Restoration
Insurance Restoration Roofing in Florida
Florida property owners deal with hurricane, tropical storm, hail, and fire damage on a recurring basis. When a covered weather event damages your roof, the insurance process that follows it involves documentation, scope preparation, adjuster coordination, and often negotiation to ensure the full scope of damage is recognized and covered.
We work with residential and commercial property owners through the insurance restoration process. We are not public adjusters and do not handle the legal or claims management side. What we do is the roofing side: thorough damage documentation, scope preparation, adjuster coordination, and installation of the final system.
The Florida Insurance Landscape
It is worth being direct about the current Florida property insurance environment. It is difficult. Carriers have tightened claim review processes, and legitimate storm damage is increasingly scrutinized before approval. Property owners who approach the process with incomplete documentation, imprecise scopes, or without a roofing contractor who knows how to communicate with adjusters are at a disadvantage.
We know how to document storm damage and prepare scopes that reflect actual conditions. That documentation matters when an adjuster reviews the claim.
Damage Assessment
When you contact us after a storm event, we schedule a roof inspection and conduct a thorough damage assessment. We document all damage with photographs and written notation — not a summary, but a line-item record of what we find. This includes primary damage from the event and any pre-existing conditions that need to be clearly distinguished.
We use this documentation to prepare the scope of work that accurately reflects the repair or replacement required to restore the roof to pre-loss condition. That scope is what goes to the insurance carrier for review.
Adjuster Coordination
We are available to meet with the insurance adjuster at the property during the field inspection. Having a roofing contractor present during that inspection is one of the most effective ways to ensure the full scope of damage is visible to the adjuster and included in the estimate. Items that are not flagged during the field inspection are difficult to add later.
We communicate with adjusters professionally and accurately. We do not inflate scopes, and we do not minimize damage. Our position is that the scope should reflect what actually exists on the roof.
Supplement Process
Insurance adjusters sometimes prepare initial estimates that miss line items or underestimate quantities. When that happens, a supplement request — supported by documentation — is the mechanism for correcting it. We prepare supplement documentation when warranted and work with the carrier to resolve scope discrepancies.
Installation
Once the claim is approved and scope is confirmed, we schedule and complete the restoration installation. All work is done by our in-house W2 crew. The installation meets Florida Building Code requirements and manufacturer specifications, which is relevant for both permit compliance and warranty purposes.
We provide post-installation documentation for the property owner’s records and for the insurance carrier as required.
What We Do Not Do
We do not solicit storm work door to door. We do not perform work contingent on an insurance claim approval. And we do not participate in assignment of benefits arrangements. Our relationship is directly with the property owner.
Timeline Expectations
Insurance restoration projects take longer than standard roofing projects because the process depends on the carrier’s claim timeline, not just ours. We set realistic expectations at the outset and keep property owners informed as the process moves forward. If temporary protection — tarping or emergency sealing — is needed while the claim is being processed, we address that as the first step.
